Through the eyes of another
In this age of technology we can be transported around the world by the words and pictures of others, a snapshot in time of another's reality. We may not ever be able to experience these moments ourselves but we can catch a glimpse, have the tiniest taste of the possibility. These shared moments can fire a creative spark; when inspiration hits I've been letting it carry me away this month, to vast landscapes, poetry, pencils, pastels, ink.
I have tried to stop chasing perfection, after all we are all flawed and so are our creations. Perhaps that is part of the charm and humanness.
So poured out of my being these past few weeks ...
Sketch book work inspired by my Welsh trip:

A poetry collaboration, inspired by a friend's moss photograph:
A couple of oil pastel pictures with the brief of 'Shelter':
A new entry into my nature journal plus some linoprint experimenting:
I am very fortunate to currently be taking some lino print classes, so you may be seeing more of this in the near future! Alongside this creating, and work (!), I took a quick trip to Winchester to listen to a piano quartet in the Cathedral. It's always an amazing atmosphere and full house, this alongside a river walk and some second hand book shopping filled my cup and bought a little joy to my soul.
Autumn is upon us, my favourite season. I long for the coolness, a blustery walk, crisp mornings and time to cosy up with a hot drink. May you be able to see the world through the eyes of another and open your heart to the possibilities it brings.
