Serendipity

Serendipity - the occurrence and development of events by chance in a happy or beneficial way.
March - the promise of warmer, lighter days. Daffodils and crocus abundantly appearing in clusters, within front gardens and parks, bringing splashes of vibrancy to both bright and grey days.
On one particularly beautiful day I took a walk down to a local pre 11th century church (it was even mentioned in the Domesday Book). Century old gravestones standing amongst the daffodil laden grass, bathing in the sunlight created a very serene atmosphere. I also took a wander round the newer part of the cemetery to pay respect to the many relatives that now rest there. I was asked if I find it creepy or morbid, but no I don't. I like to think of them as a celebration of life and love reminding us of what matters most in this world.

I have made progress with my lino printing. I am extremely pleased that my carving of words was successful! Having finished and test printed my piece 'Within the Margins of Her Pages', I had thought about adding more details but a comment was made that the simplicity is what stood out and suited it, so it will be remaining as it is. I just need to perfect my printing technique!

Embrace the warmth of sunny days, may the spring bulbs delight your eyes and the morning chorus of birdsong fill your ears with their music.
